1. Q. Is my data visible on your remote servers ?

A.The managed security keys that are provided with each bizEbox a contain a unique encryption key. This key prevents your data being read by any party that does not have possession of the keys.

2. Q. What is a multi-tiered backup system ?

A. A backup system that consists of more than one level of protection. eg. Local, Offsite and Media. The bizEbox caters for all of theses options.

3. Q. Is an automatic backup that important?

A. If the person in your office that is responsible for the backups is absent does anyone else take over?

4. Q. I backup regularly to disc/tape how would this system benefit me ?

A. Simply backing up to disc/tape does not provide adequate protection. In the event of a fire or theft it is possible for all of the backups to be destroyed. Due to the manufacturing process involved with media, it is highly possible for a backup to have failed without your knowledge. As quoted by Dr Kevin Dally in a recent article on www.businessweek.com
"It's the tape that is the primary culprit in backup and restore failures. Failure rates of 30% should be unacceptable by any standard."

5. Q. What are incremental backups ?

A. An incremental backup retains a log of changes to the data. In it's original state. This method of backup provides a far higher level of safety than by simply mirroring or copying.

6. Q. In the event of a theft, how safe is the data stored on a bizEbox?

A. By requiring a managed security key to start the bizEbox, in the event of a break-in once power has been removed from the bizEbox all of the data is instantly encrypted. This prevents any third party from accessing you stolen data offsite.

7. Q. What level of support is available for the bizEbox?

A. 24 Hour 7 Days a week support is available for all bizEbox customers as part of the standard package. The call centre which is based in Australia is manned by trained personnel to assist you with any problems that may arise. Should a physical fault arise a replacement box will be shipped immediately to your premises as part of the 12 Month warranty period.

8. Q. How do I know that the backups are working?

A. A detailed log file is available through the windows command centre on your local desktop
